Ierapetra Archaeological Collection

The Museum was created at the end of last century, during the Turkish occupation. Change building very often. Currently housed in the Commercial Ottoman School of Ierapetra.

The collections include:

Minoan art: written Minoan sarcophagi, lamps, vases Late Minoan III (1400-1200 BC), mainly stirrup jars and craters. Geometric art (figurines, pottery), 9th-8th century BC Archaic art (mostly relief plaques and figurines). Late 7th-6th century BC Classical and Hellenistic art (vases and figurines), 5th-1st century BC Roman art (vases and figurines). Late 1st BC - 4th AD century. Sculptures and statues from Roman times.
