Religious Tourism

Religious tourism is a form of tourism whereby people travel in order to visit places of worship, such as churches and monasteries. Greek orthodox monuments attract visitors because of their unique character. Monasteries, metropolitan churches, country churches, Byzantine and Post Byzantine monuments are some of the attractions.

Religious tourism can be divided in:

A) Pilgrimage, travels of religious significance.

B) Group travels combining visits to sites of religious interest with other activities.
